Tell us about your career to date?
I managed to wriggle my way into my first position at a design agency in 2016 as a junior Graphic Designer and stayed here for the first 3 years of my career, learning a lot and growing as a junior, very quickly realising how fast moving and hardworking the industry I had chosen was.
I then discovered how great the city of Manchester is, so decided it was time to move and find a new place of work in an in-house position. That was great fun and I got to wear many hats within the role, but I very quickly realised my passion was within design and ideas, and I wanted to focus on this.
At this time the pandemic had surfaced so I made it my mission to find a new opportunity within Manchester at an agency. I then found Studio North, and knew I wanted to work there because of my love of branding, but with no job suitable for me (advertised) I tried my luck and came up with an over-the-top email campaign to get Nicks attention. Luckily for me it paid off, a few interviews later and here I am.
What was your initial impression of Studio North?
The first thing that hit me was how knowledgeable everybody was. It really is a team full of experts, which pushes everybody to give their best to the clients and to each other as a collective. That’s a rare environment to be in, Everyone was very friendly and warm. I could see it was a very well-established agency that care about staff, clients and the all-important little details, whether this is the details in our work, or the details in a working day which makes everything more enjoyable.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Studio North team?
It’s a well-rounded team where everyone matters, no matter who you are. I love being able to bounce ideas around with the team, no matter now crazy that idea may be. I also love having a laugh, very good humour at Studio North!
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I wanted to be a professional street dancer, and wanted to be a soldier at one point – not really sure how I ended up a creative from this!
What is an interesting or unusual fact about yourself?
I’m expecting twins in November.
